Crispy Cardamom Waffles

Ingredients:

3 cups of all purpose unbleached flour

2 cups of whole milk

1/4 cup of half and half

2 eggs (room temp preferred)

1 stick of butter at room temperature (4 ounces)

1/4 cup of sugar

1 tsp almond extract

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp of cardamom

1/4 tsp of salt

Instructions:

Cream sugar and butter together in a stand mixer or with hand mixer. Add eggs one at a time while mixing. Add half and half, milk, and almond flavoring.

In a large bowl sift together baking powder, baking soda, salt, cardamom and flour.

Slowly add your dry ingredients to your wet ingredients. Batter will be thick! More like really loose cookie dough than a traditional waffle batter. That is ok!

Grease a waffle iron with either a spray or brushed on butter or oil. preheat to medium high. Scoop on your waffle mix. follow instructions according to your waffle iron.

Serve with my Raspberry Compote, ice cream, whipped cream, or however you like your waffles.
